Police Kill Kidnapper, Rescue Victim In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has revealed that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit has shot dead a suspected kidnapper and rescued the female victim.
Reports say victim, Kudirat Adeboye, a petrol filling station owner, was abducted at the Elemoro area of Ibeju-Lekki.

The 60-year-old woman was inspecting construction at her new petrol station before she was seized.

The kidnappers were said to have demanded a N50 million ransom, but after negotiation, they agreed to collect N3 million.

When the news got to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, he ordered the officer in charge of SARS, Mr. Abba Kyari, to rescue the victim and apprehend the perpetrators.

Kyari and his decoy teams trailed the victim’s brother who was carrying the ransom to Epe.

The kidnappers, who were not aware that Kyari and his men were trailing them came to collect the ransom and one of them who wanted to collect it, was shot by the police.

The police arrested the suspect who managed to take them to a bush between Epe and Ijebu-Ode where the gang kept the old woman.

The hoodlum who was badly wounded, died later, but the police rescued the victim.
