The innocent four-year-old boy, who was attacked by two dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State, has said the police and the government must ensure that the dogs that almost took his life are killed.
The little boy, who is in the Burns and Plastic Ward of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, said that he would not return home until the dogs were dead.
The victim, who still had a bandaged head, said he tried to run from the dogs when they started to attack him but he was overwhelmed.

On tuesday, an Ikorodu Customary Court dissolved an 18-year old marriage between Olive Omoletu and his wife, Toyin, over s ex denial for nine years.

A woman has died of her injuries after being set on fire on a train in the Indian state of Kerala.

The woman, identified as Fathima, 45, had been seen having an argument with man on the station platform in the town of Kannur early on Monday.

She boarded a stationary train and was seen running out shortly afterwards in flames. Police say they are looking for the suspect.

Violence against women is deeply entrenched across India.

The 2012 gang rape and murder of a student in Delhi caused global outrage and sparked a nationwide discussion about attitudes towards and violence against women, which led to some laws being changed.

Kerala police inspector AK Babu told the BBC that some eyewitnesses had reported that Fathima was seen arguing with the man shortly before boarding the early morning train to Cochin.

Police suspect that Fathima was doused in alcohol before being set on fire while she was sitting in the train compartment. The seat covers were also burned.

Babu said the police could not take a statement before her death, as she was too seriously injured.

Akwa Ibom SSG, three others resign from cabinet

Four members of Akwa Ibom State Executive Council on Tuesday resigned from their positions in compliance with Peoples Democratic Party’s directive to further their political ambition in 2015.
Those that resigned are – Udom Emmanuel, Secretary to the State Government; Ekpenyong Ntekim, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for
Justice; Pastor Ita Udo, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism and Iboro Ekanem, Commissioner for Science and Technology.

Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in Prison.

A 60-year-old pastor, Mr. Joseph Adebo, has been killed by armed robbers who unleashed terror on residents of Oke Ela area in Ilaro, Ogun State.
Punch learnt that the pastor was shot in the chest and his left arm by the robbers. It was further gathered that Adebo was pastor in charge of a Pentecostal church situated at Powerline, Oke Ela in Ilaro.

The chief executive of French oil company Total, Christophe de Margerie, 63, has died. He died last night when a private jet he was boarding with three crew members collided with a snow plough at Moscow’s Vnukovo international airport. His death has been described as a big loss for the global oil/gas industry. He was 63. May his soul rest in peace.
