Fayose Raises Alarm Over Ballot Box Snatching
Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State on Saturday raised alarm over allegations of snatching of ballot boxes during House of Assembly election by suspected hoodlums in parts of the state.
The governor said the polling units where the act was alleged to have been carried out included those in Ikole Local Government Area and Ilejemeje Local Government Area.

Alhaja Safurat Layode Abdukareem, running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje, Saturday lost at her polling unit to the APC. She polled 72 votes against APC’s 140.

The police in Enugu State have arrested seven suspects accused of raping a Reverend Sister, in addition to the kidnap of over 10 Rev. Fathers, pastors, politicians and passengers.

Tambuwal Calls For Peaceful Elections
The Speaker, House of Representative and the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has urged Nigerians to vote peacefully tomorrow by shunning violence.
While urging voters to go out en masse to cast their votes tomorrow, Tambuwal said all supporters of the parties should conduct themselves peacefully and resist any act of deliberate provocations during and after the election.

Jega Appeals For Calm On Election Day
INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, has appealed to politicians to refrain from acts capable of truncating the electoral process by encouraging peaceful conduct of elections on April 11.
Jega, who made the appeal on Thursday in Makurdi during a meeting of stakeholders convened by INEC, said the scale of violence that was recorded in Benue during the Presidential and National Assembly polls was regrettable.
