United States Calls For European Union Sanctions On Iranian Ballistic Program

The United States urged the European Union on Monday to apply sanctions targeting Iran’s ballistic missile program, calling it a “grave and escalating threat.”
Over the weekend, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo charged that Iran tested a medium-range missile capable of carrying multiple warheads and striking parts of Europe and the entire Middle East.

Federal Government Signs Treaty With Russia On Repatriation Of Stolen Assets

The Federal Government has signed a Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters with Russia for repatriation of looted funds and assets.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the treaty was negotiated in 2009 but signed in Moscow, Russia, on November 27, 2018, by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
He was accompanied by the Ambassador of Nigeria to the Russian Federation, Prof. Steve Ugbah, while the Acting Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, Mr. Oleg Anatoyevich Plokhoy signed on behalf of his country.

Governor  Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State says he will remain in the All Progressives Congress to contest the senatorial election in 2019 while ensuring the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He, however, said aggrieved party members who defected to the Allied People’s Movement have his blessings.
Amosun spoke on Monday in Abeokuta at a stakeholders meeting of the APC which was attended by his preferred governorship candidate and the candidate of APM, Adekunle Akinlade.

Small Doctor Arrested And Paraded For Threatening A Police Officer With A Gun In Oshodi

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and paraded street pop star, Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor, for unlawful possession of firearms and for allegedly threatening to shoot a police officer.  
Edgal Imohimi, Lagos State Commissioner of Police confirmed his arrest moments ago while parading the musician along with three other persons. Small Doctor was arrested on allegations that he threatened a Police officer who was on traffic duty along Oshodi, Lagos.
