Ex-Militants Rally Support For Buhari



                   Former militant leaders under the auspices of New Niger Delta Forum,NNDF, have called for total support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s aspiration to bring the needed dividends of democracy and rapid development to the region.
The group also commended former Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State, Hon. former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva and Commander Bibi Oduku for supporting the group during the April 28 presidential election.

SSANU Threatens Strike Over FG’s Privatisation Plan



                      The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities has threatened to withdraw its services from Nigerian universities should the Federal Government go ahead with its plan to stop paying the salaries of teachers of University Demonstration Primary Schools.

                                 An attack at a gas factory in France has left one decapitated in a possible terrorist attack. French media said a beheaded body was found at the site, along with a flag bearing Islamist inscriptions.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve was heading to the site, they said.
The victim was found dead inside a factory in Grenoble, in the French Alps, it is understood.

                         A non-profit organisation, YouthhubAfrica, has stated that no youth benefitted from the N2.1bn Junior Professional Officers Programme initiated by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, in 2013.

               Contrary to denial by the Presidency that operatives of the Department of State Services were not ordered out of the villa, Vanguard can authoritatively reveal that the Aide-de-Camp, ADC, to the President has formally informed the DSS that its personnel would no longer provide close body protection for the President as they are being replaced with men of the Nigerian Army and Police personnel “who were trained as Presidential Bodyguards.”
It will be recalled that Vanguard reported, yesterday, that ADC to the President, Lt. Col Abubakar Lawal, ordered personnel of the DSS out of the villa and replaced them with men of the Nigerian Army.

Nigerian Lawmakers Turn Boxers , Exchange Blows in The National Assembly

                                    There’s a battle going on in the National House of Representatives.
                 The lawmakers were exchanging blows and they are yet to sort out their issues.
  The fight is between those loyal to the speaker, Yakubu Dogara and APC loyal party members.

Reports have it that the party had earlier sent a letter dictating who should emerge principal officers of the assembly. However, some
lawmakers,especially those loyal to the Yakubu Dogara felt the party has no right to dictate the leadership of the assembly.

President Buhari Appoints New Accountant General Of The Federation

                 A serving director in the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Ahmed Idris, was on Thursday appointed the new Accountant General of the Federation by President Muhammadu Buhari.
A statement by the Director of Communications of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Haruna Imrana, on Thursday in Abuja announcing the appointment, added that the appointment was with immediate effect from June 25, 2015.

                                There was pandemonium in Abraka  recently as a female student of Delta State University, Abraka, Evelyn Mogekwe, aged 26, allegedly jilted by her lover of seven years, committed suicide.
Vanguard learned that the abrupt end of the seven years relationship traumatized the lady as all plans to work down the aisle failed to materialize.
