Boko Haram right now in Gombe is dropping letters warning people to stay away from the March 28 elections. Earlier on today, hundreds of Boko Haram Islamists invaded and attacked the restive northeast Nigerian city of Gombe, firing heavy guns. AFP reports that locals also confirmed to them that the insurgents threw leaflets at them that were asking them to boycott the forthcoming general elections.

President Goodluck Jonathan has been cautioned by some lawyers to stop differentiating between the acts of stealing and corruption.
The President had during the 8th presidential media chat on Wednesday maintained that there was a difference between the two acts. This came several months after he first made a similar statement.

Supporters of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,are not amused by the recent deployment of soldiers close to his Bourdillon Road,Ikoyi residence.

For four days this week,the armed soldiers laid siege to the area in what the APC called part of the plan by the Presidency to intimidate leaders of the party in the run-up to the rescheduled elections.

Police detectives at the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Panti, Lagos, are currently working to untangle the mystery behind the sudden death of a middle aged woman, Obiageli Anajekwu. She was alleged to have been battered by her husband, Ikechukwu Anajekwu on January 19, 2015. She ran to her friend, Chinyere Onyali’s house where she died two days later.
Pleading that he is innocent, the accused, Ikechukwu Anajekwu, 54, lamented that life has never been the same ever since he agreed to marry the late Obiageli.

Suspected political thugs on Thursday unleashed terror in three communities in Ekiti State attacking All Progressives Congress (APC) members and destroying their property.

The communities where the thugs wreaked havoc are Igbemo-Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, Ijan-Ekiti and Iluomoba-Ekiti both in Gbonyin Local Government Area.

The hoodlums attacked the residence of a member of the House of Assembly, Ayodeji Odu and the APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun both in Igbemo. Four APC members were also abducted.

Posters and billboards of APC candidates were vandalized by the hoodlums who were armed with guns and machetes.

At least four persons were feared killed and 10 houses burnt as a result of a clash between Christians and Muslims in Babale village of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A patient has had to be cut free from his hospital bed in China and forcibly removed by police after chaining himself down and refusing to leave.
A court in Beijing ordered that the man, aged 55 and only known by his surname Chen, had to be removed from the hospital after living there for more than three years.

Tragedy struck in the Mushin area of Lagos State after a 35-year-old tricycle rider, Olalekan Salisu, fell into a soakaway in his house and died.
He was said to be starting his small generator on the soakaway around 9pm on Sunday when the slab covering the soakaway gave way.

A woman by name Janet Effiong,32, have been arrested by the police for allegedly conniving with a suspected robber to attack a cab driver, who was allegedly her ex-lover and who had cheated on her.Effiong was arrested along with a robbery suspect, Femi Talabi, who helped her to carry out the operation.
They were arrested on Airport Road, near Ajao Estate, in the Isolo area of Lagos on Saturday, February 7, at about 7.30pm by policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad,Punch Reports.
