It was like he was in dreamland. Abiodun Adio, a commercial truck driver, could not believe his luck when he won the grand prize of Range Rover Evogue in the just-concluded Red Hot Promo.
Adio was presented the luxury SUV by the Chief Executive and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, at a colorful prize presentation ceremony held today at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has reacted to speculations over the postponement of the elections scheduled to hold on February 14, 2015.
Buhari who has, alongside his party, expressed opposition to any form of postponement, spoke with told YNaija that citizens should avoid getting ahead of INEC saying the Commission is yet to make an official pronouncement on the issue.

                      An 18-year-old Good Samaritan has told how a man he tried to help beat him so savagely his own mother thought he was dead.
                      Angus Gallagher had 13 skull fractures, three broken fingers, fractured ribs and eardrum damage and needed a titanium plate behind his right eye after the assault by 25-year-old Brian Ramsay.

Military service chiefs have told the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] that no soldiers will be available to provide security anywhere in the country if it goes ahead with its plans to hold the presidential elections on Saturday next week because they are too busy with operations in the North East region.

The growing speculation that the elections might be postponed speaks volumes of someone’s election jitters. But who will it benefit most between Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and President Goodluck Jonathan if the elections are postponed? The Independent National Electoral Commission had four years to prepare for February elections. How come it waited till the 11th hour to start distributing PVCs? Nawa ooo.

The United States has offered more assistance to Nigeria in its fight against Boko Haram if the Federal Government keeps to February 14 and 28 poll timetable.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it will meet with chairmen and secretaries of all registered political parties, and Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs tomorrow Saturday 7th, to decide whether to go ahead with the general elections billed for February 14 and 28.
A statement released by Mr Kayode Idowu, the spokesperson of INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, states that after the meeting, “the Commission will address a press conference to brief the nation on its decision with regard to whether or not the general elections will hold as currently scheduled”. It was a tragic day today as students heading from Ado town to Iworoko had a ghastly accident, eye witness reports states that the driver was over speeding, the car which had 10 students and the driver lost control and veered of the road crashing disastrously, the driver died on the spot, some students died also while others have been rushed to the school health center, as of the time of this report we cant confirm the exact number of the dead.

                   The police have arraigned 25-year-old painter, Hamzat Afeez, for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl in the Egbeda area of Lagos State.
                   He was arraigned on one count of rape at the Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court.
               Punch Metro had reported how Afeez allegedly took the victim’s younger sister into his room while their mother washed clothes in the house.

A mortuary worker in Ghana has admitted to having sex with female corpses because he was told to.
In an interview on Adom TV Ghana,Sharkur Lucas who said he worked at a Morgue in Accra , Ghana claimed his superiors told him to have sex with corpses as part of his training ‘so he wouldn’t be afraid of dead bodies.

The forensic audit conducted by audit firm, PriceWaterHouseCoopers on behalf of the Federal Govt to investigate the financial transactions within the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC) has indicted the management of the NNPC for various questionable transactions.

The federal government had contracted the auditing firm in March last year to investigate allegations of financial impropriety within the corporation after Former CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi raised an alarm that $20m was missing from the coffers of the NNPC.

The Federal Government on Thursday raised alarm over plans by the Boko Haram sect to attack polling units during this month’s general election.
It said the sect has perfected plans to collect, buy or steal the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) of female voters, give them to female suicide bombers to pave way for them to carry out their deadly activities during the elections.

The Federal Government on Thursday faulted claims by foreign journalists that they were denied accreditation to cover the country’s general election.
A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, said the claim was false.

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka said matter-of-factly that no one should vote for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan’s government due to the administration’s total failure in leadership.
Soyinka addressed journalists in Lagos, Thursday, at the 2015 edition of Vision of the Child (VOTC), a yearly programme inaugurated in 2012. The Octogenarian disclosed that he has 60 reasons not to vote President Goodluck Jonathan.

A 24 year old woman named Li Zhenghua, was discovered by a shocked nurse trying to eat her baby days after he was born at a local hospital in China. The nurse saw her eating the infant's arm and as she made to rescue the infant, the crazed mum refused to let the baby go. The nurse immediately raised an alarm and called other hospital staff who helped to rescue the baby.
