Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) to dissolve the governing council of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, FUPRE, Delta State over its alleged disregard for due process in the institution.
CUYO, in a statement by its Chairman, Comrade Mudiaga Abiri said it has slated June 3, 2015 for a protest to the Federal Ministry of Education, against the governing council’s alleged utter disregard for due process in the recent employment of staff into the institution.

                        THE people of Okpe Kingdom, under the aegis of Okpe Union, have called on the Federal Government to compel all oil prospecting multinationals in the country to establish their refineries, so that the issues of fuel importation and subsidy will be finally laid to rest.

                            The Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi okonjo-Iweala, said it was strange for the Governors Forum to allege that 20 billion dollars were missing from the Excess Crude Account (ECA).
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Paul Nwabuikwu, spokesman for the Minister, in Abuja on Tuesday.
The statement said there was no basis for the forum to demand that the minister should account for such money from June 2013 to April 2015.

                  A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, restrained President Goodluck Jonathan from assenting to the bill for an Act to amend the Oil and Gas Export Free Zone Act.
Trial judge, Justice Saliu Saidu, also restrained the National Assembly and the Clerk of the National Assembly from forwarding the bill for an Act to Amend the Oil and Gas Export Free Zone Authority Act. Cap. 05 to President Jonathan for assent.

                 One of the women freed by soldiers from Boko Haram’s captivity, Meriam, 36, has narrated how Boko Haram terrorists trained and prepared girls and women for suicide missions.
In a revealing interview with the New York Times, Meriam, who had just arrived at one of the internally displaced persons’ camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital from Gwoza, narrated how she was imprisoned with dozens of other women including some who were being trained as suicide bombers.

                A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Apo, Abuja, on Monday ordered Guaranty Trust Bank Plc to refund N5.3bn illegally withdrawn from the account of one its customers, Dr. Ted Edwards.
Justice Valentine Ashi, in his judgment, ordered that the N5.3bn should attract 10 per cent interest from Monday, when judgment was delivered, till the time the money was paid back to the owner.

Boko Haram released a new video on claiming to show the missing Nigerian schoolgirls, alleging they had converted to Islam and would not be released until all militant prisoners were freed. A total of 276 girls were abducted on April 14 from the northeastern town of Chibok, in Borno state, which has a sizeable Christian community. Some 223 are still missing.


                             Borno State governor, Kassim Shettima, Tuesday, said there was every tendency that the female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, abducted by members of the Boko Haram sect, in April 2014, were being held in bunkers, inside Sambisa Forest.
To this end, he has asked the military, which is combing the forest not only to fish out members of the sect but to also liberate the over 200 girls to carry their assignment beyond surface earth.

                Poor orientation is restraining disbursement of the N220 billion Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund (MSMEDF) Lagos State Coordinator, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Mr Yinka Fisher, disclosed this, while stating that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Micro finance Banks have stopped the disbursement of the loans following logistics impediments.
