Compel Oil Firms To Establish Refineries, Okpe Union Tells FG

FUEL SCARCITY WORSENS, AS OIL MARKETERS SUSPEND IMPORTATION


                        THE people of Okpe Kingdom, under the aegis of Okpe Union, have called on the Federal Government to compel all oil prospecting multinationals in the country to establish their refineries, so that the issues of fuel importation and subsidy will be finally laid to rest.
President General of the group, Mr Patrick Akpotor, during the union’s 85th anniversary celebration in Lagos, said: “Oil prospecting firms operating in Okpeland should be made to employ our youths and such clause should be embedded in the memorandum of understanding which should also form part of their social responsibility to the kingdom.”


The highlight of the event included the presentation of  two papers, Okpe Union, yesterday, today and the future outlook, by Mr Esivwenughwu Joseph and Emancipation of Okpe Union, by Mr Moses Akpobasah.

Akpotor urged businessmen of Okpe extraction to establish branches of their businesses in Okpeland to create employment for the youths.
