It’s a Shame Nigeria Still Imports Petrol –Opadokun

The Convener, Coalition of Democrats for Electoral Reforms, Mr. Ayo Opadokun, and the Chairman, Galaxy Clique, Offa, Mr. Muideen Ibrahim, have said it is shameful that Nigeria, which is one of the largest global producers of crude oil, still imports petrol for domestic consumption.
They also said the Offa people were at a disadvantaged position on the basis of their inclusion in Kwara State, which is one of the 19 northern states, when according to them, they share cultural norms and history with the Yoruba.

EFCC, ICPC Begin Probe Of Suspended NHIS Boss For N919m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has begun investigations into allegations of misappropriation of funds and abuse of office levelled against the suspended Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof. Usman Yusuf.
The EFCC stated this in a letter dated December 21, 2017, which was addressed to the current acting Executive Secretary of the NHIS.
The investigations by the commission started five months after Yusuf was suspended by the Federal Ministry of Health.

Controversy has continued to trail the recent disclosure by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Abdulaziz Yari, that state governors in the country had asked the Federal Government to withdraw $1bn from the Excess Crude Account to fight insurgency in the North-East.
