Less than 24 hours after her purported suspension, the embattled speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mrs. Jumoke Akindele declared that she was still the speaker of the Assembly.
Akindele was on Friday suspended by 14 members of the House following alleged financial misappropriation while Mr. Malachi Coker from Ilaje Constituency 1 was appointed as the acting speaker.

Stop Using Mosques To Preach Hate – Sanusi

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has warned Muslim clerics in the country to stop using their mosques to preach hate among Nigerians.
Sanusi gave the warning in his sermon at the ultra-modern mosque of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State on Friday.

BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Delta Catholic Priest, Demand N10m Ransom

Gunmen have reportedly abducted a Catholic priest in-charge of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Rev. Fr. Joseph Oghenekevwe Ojakorotu.
Fr Ojakorotu was allegedly abducted along the Sapele-Eku road in Sapele Local Government Area while returning from a journey to Eku on Friday.
Sources also confirmed to our correspondent on Saturday that the abductors have contacted some parishioners demanding N10 million before he could be released.

DSS invites Apostle Suleman Over ‘Inciting’ Comments

General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has been invited by the Department of State Services to appear at its National Headquarters in Abuja.
Our correspondent learnt on Saturday that the cleric was invited for interrogation on Monday by 10:00 am, based on his recent alleged inciting comments that Christians should defend themselves against attacks by Fulani herdsmen.

OBJ Said South East should have a go at Nigeria’s Presidency

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday gave a tacit nod for the South-East geopolitical zone to produce the nation’s President.

He, however, described this position as purely his personal view.

In the same vein, he noted that in the interest of justice and fairness, the Ogun West Senatorial District in Ogun State should be given the chance to produce the next governor of the state.
