Former militant leaders under the auspices of New Niger Delta Forum,NNDF, have called for total support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s aspiration to bring the needed dividends of democracy and rapid development to the region.
The group also commended former Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State, Hon. former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva and Commander Bibi Oduku for supporting the group during the April 28 presidential election.
The group in a statement by its National President, Ujobolo Larry, National Secretary, George Ochonoghor, National Coordinator, Sunny Ujobolo, Delta State Chairman, Omonigho Jessa and the National leader, Mr. Kingsley Jessa, said the commendation became necessary due to the role they played during their participation in presidential election.
The NNDF who gave the commendation in Effurun, Uvwie local government area of Delta State, while pledging their unflinching loyalty to the leadership of Commander Oduku as the head of the ex-militants in the Niger-Delta region, said Oduku’s security network guided them during the election despite threats and intimidations from various quarters.
