Borno Relaxes One Day Curfew To 10pm To Allow Distribution Of Election Materials

Following preparations for distribution of sensitive materials by INEC, Borno state Government on Friday relaxed the 7pm curfew to 10pm to allow smooth conduct of the exercise.
The extension which is only for Friday will relapse on Saturday to ensure that voters get their materials at their respective polling units across the state.

The relaxation of the one-day curfew was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda, which was made available to our Correspondent in Maiduguri, the state capital.

It would be recalled that, Maiduguri has been under 6am- 7pm curfew for several months following activities of insurgents.

Jidda therefore urged the people of the state to be orderly and come out enmasse to exercise their franchise.
