A 30-year-old man, identified as Obafemi Kolawole, was on Wednesday sentenced to life imprisonment by an Osun State High Court for raping a pregnant lady.
Rachel Ojimi, the State Prosecutor had earlier told the court that Kolawole,attacked the 19- year-old pregnant lady in her house and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The prosecutor said the convict after carrying out the evil act, went ahead to shave the victim’s pubic hair and put it in her mouth.
Rachel further revealed that Kolawole also poured dry gin on the mouth of the teenager, in order to flush the hair through her throat into her stomach.
The prosecutor also presented a medical report obtained from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital Osogbo, as evidence of rape against the accused to prove her case beyond reasonable doubt.
Kolawole was arraigned on a one count charge of rape, which is punishable under section 358 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34 Vol. II, Laws of Osun State 2003.
Delivering the judgment, Justice AbdulKareem AbdulKareem, found Kolawole guilty of rape, and sentenced him to life imprisonment. He also ordered that the convict should be flogged daily while he serves his jail term.
Meanwhile, officials of Edo State Police Command on September 23, 2014, paraded a 60-year-old man, identified as Friday Akpan, for allegedly raping a 9-year-old daughter of his employer, on the other hand, a Nigerian man, Fabian Anyanwu, was also arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly raping a 22-year-old Cameroonian lady.
It would be recalled that a couple was also on September 17, 2014, arraigned before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for raping their house help.
