35 Policemen have been declared missing with rescue operatives trying to locate them following the deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on the Mobile Police Training School in Gwoza, last week, the Force Headquarters said yesterday.
The Boko Haram insurgents had first attacked the Mobile Police Training School on the 7th of August, 2014 but were resisted by the Police. They then launched a fresh attack on the 20th, which lasted for several hours where the policemen on duty engaged them in a fierce battle.
So far, thirty-five policemen who are still missing from the facility as a result of the latest attack are being searched for with very promising prospect of locating them, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Emmanuel Ojukwu who confirmed the incident said in a statement released.
