Reading this broke my heart. What would you do if your
child came home from school looking like this? You then asked the school
authorities you left your child under their care and they tell you not
much can be done about it?
Unfortunately, this is little AvaLynn's story. Photos of the bruised young girl have gone viral on Facebook and Twitter since yesterday. According to the young girl's mum, Lacey Harris, on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, she was called to go come pick up her daughter at Arlington Elementary School in
Pascagoula, Mississippi, because AvaLynn had been injured in an accident. The sight Lacey met when she got to Ava's school was every parents' nightmare: her daughter's face was swollen, cut, and bruised beyond recognition.

AvaLynn informed her mum Lacey that she was assaulted by another
student: that she was kicked repeatedly in the face until she fell off
of the slide on the school's playground. But the school informed Lacey
that there were no teachers present when the incident occurred, and
because of that, no one could prove whether or not another student had
harmed Ava. That there had been an accident, no other students were
involved, Ava got injured, they gave her medical treatment and that was
as much as they could do.
Lacey says she rushed Ava to the family pediatrician, who burst into tears upon seeing the Ava's battered visage. Fortunately, the doctor determined that it is unlikely that Ava would have any permanent physical damage. Mental and emotional damage is another story altogether.
The school basically claims that Ava injured herself and the local police department claims that there has been no criminal act. So Lacey and her family have turned to the public to seek justice. Scroll down to see more photos.
