Blood bath is now looming at the Bridgehead market, Onitsha, Anambra state, as Board of Trustees, BoT of the market under the aegis of Onitsha Bridgehead Market Traders Association, OBMTA condemned the delay by the state government to conduct an election that will produce executive members of the association, as scheduled.
A three-man peace committee had after meeting with the trustees of the market and officials of the state Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry, scheduled the election for March 15, 2015 but the exercise could not hold.

Again, the election was rescheduled for April 30 but when it could not hold again for what the trustees perceived as an unjustifiable reason, the traders became enraged and wanted to go on rampage, but for the timely intervention of members of the Board of Trustees, BoT of the market.

Reacting to the development, Chairman of the OBMTA BoT, Chief Robert Ozigbo accused the state Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Ifeatu Onejeme of being responsible for the confusion that is rocking the market which is currently resulting to near anarchy.

Ozigbo told newsmen who went to cover the election that did not hold that the traders were not happy about the constant postponement of the exercise by the commissioner who has been trying to stabilize care-taker committee system in the market over the years.
