Mikel Plays 2 Minutes As Hazard Humbles Man U

Mikel

Mikel, who has been injured for more than six weeks was named on the bench and came in for Ces Fabregas in the 90+2 minutes of the game. The Referee added 4 minutes to the normal 90 minutes.
The winning goal, superbly finished after one of the best moves of the game, came before half-time with Hazard then striking woodwork not long after it.

From that point on Jose Mourinho’s men were prepared to allow Manchester United plenty of the ball but the visitors could not find a way through Chelsea strong defence. The closest they came was a strike against the outside of the post, after which the threat died away.

‘We’re top of the league!’ rang out around Stamford Bridge shortly before the final whistle blew. Wins at Arsenal and Leicester in the next two games and the title will be won by the Blues.

Jose Mourinho sprung a surprise when the teams were announced by calling upon Kurt Zouma to play a part in midfield in tandem with Nemanja Matic. As was then immediately expected, the young French international spent a good deal of the game in close contest with the in-form Marouane Fellaini.

Loic Remy had not recovered from injury in time to be involved so Didier Drogba continued to lead the attack in front of Cesc Fabregas, with Eden Hazard on the left and Oscar instead of Willian on the right. The defence was unchanged for the third game running.
