Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has extended his hand of fellowship to his opponents in the Saturday’s governorship election, describing them as stake holders in the Ogun project.
In his acceptance speech during a special broadcast following his re-election, the governor asked them to join hands with him to build the state.
He said: “We are all winners. There are no losers. Our unity is our strength. We, therefore, have to continue to march forward together.”
Meantime, the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Ogun State, yesterday, said, its governorship candidate in the April 11 election, Senator Akin Odunsi, has sent a congratulatory message to Governor Amosun, who emerged winner in the election.
The party, however, said it was still studying the results of the governorship and state House of Assembly elections, saying, it would come up with its decision after the completion of its scrutiny.
But for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, he is still studying the polls that produced Amosun and his party “will react at the appropriate time.’’
Amosun reassured the people of the state that his administration would continue with its policy of non-discrimination against any person based on ethnicity, gender, religion or party affiliation.
“The policies, programmes and projects of our administration in the next four years shall continue to be for the benefit of all. Indeed, we shall pursue with more vigour, determination, honesty of purpose and courage, our five cardinal programmes as contained in our administration’s Mission to Rebuild Ogun state,” he said.
