The Delta State Police Command has arrested a pastor, Austin
Eduviere and a 25-year-old woman named Ese Oghenevwe following the death
of her two sons who died after consuming a liquid substance given by
the pastor.
According to a police press release issued by the State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu, Ese had bought a liquid substance sold by one Apostle Austin Eduviere of Triumphant World International Church, Abraka, for the sum of N1,850 and it was meant for healing purposes.
The woman had given the substance to her two sons, Prayer Clement (9 months) and Wisdom Clement ( 2 years) to drink, Vanguard reports.
Ese was arrested after the Police at Abraka Police Station received information on July 25, at about 4.00 am, that Ese had killed her two sons by giving them a liquid substance to drink.
Upon her arrest, she revealed the substance was given to her by the pastor, which subsequently led to his arrest.
Upon interrogation, he revealed the substance was a mixture of water and salt which he sold to people for N1,850.00 for healing of various sicknesses after praying for them.
The police said both suspects are in police custody, helping out with the investigation.
