Save the Children is looking for experienced development professionals to work within the Nigeria Country Programme. These roles will be critical for the delivery of results for children expected by this programme.
We are recruiting to fill the position of:
Senior Community Engagement Specialist
- LocationSokoto, Bauchi
- She/he will work with the project team and partners to develop advocacy and communication strategies for the NEI+ education project, participates in national capacity building and advocacy/communication strengthening initiatives related to the education project and contributes to the sustainability and local ownership of its programming.
- University Degree in communications or related social science field with substantial experience in advocacy and policy development /research in the development context;
- Good understanding of the possibilities and tactics for influencing decision and policy makers, politicians, donors, and other key actors; Knowledge of the media and its role in raising awareness and shaping public policy;
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills and demonstrable ability to think strategically, innovatively and practically to ensure achievement of desired change objectives.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences at local, state and national levels.
- Ability to build and maintain.
Grants Support Officer
- LocationSokoto, Bauchi
- To ensure the maintenance and administration of a robust and ai effective awards management system for the NEI+ project that is compliant to SC award management systems and guidelines and meets USAID requirements.
- Candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or its equivalent; ability to use MS Word, Excel, Access and competency in development of spread-sheets and databases; proven analytical skills;
- S/he should also have strong written and verbal communication skills; substantial management experience of which at least 3 are with non-profit sector and managing institutional donor contracts such as DFID, EC, ECHO, USAID; proven experience of developing guidelines and formats to support staff in donor applications and reporting with particular reference to USAID grants; experience of managing or supporting programmes in each stage of the project cycle, including development of funding proposals, budgeting, technical and financial monitoring.
Community Mobilization Specialists
- LocationSokoto, Bauchi
- S/he will build and maintain good relationship with stakeholders at the State and IGA levels; ensure commitment and involvement of State and Local Government authorities in the programme; and support community mobilization to ensure participation, support and sustainability of the programme.
- University Degree in communications or related social science field with substantial experience in advocacy and policy development Research in the development context;

Nutrition Co-ordinator - SPRING
- LocationKaduna
- As a member of the SPRING Team, the Nutrition Coordinator will work under the direction of the SPRING/Nigeria Nutrition Advisor in the day-to-day successful implementation of the SPRING/Nigeria.
- Project at the State level. Overall, the Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for the support and capacity building of the UGM partners (including CSOs) and the Government counterpart.
- The incumbent should possess a master's degree or equivalent work experience in the field of nutrition, health, or development, experience working with an international NGO is a plus.
- Candidate must also possess strong computer skills especially in MS office package and strong organizational/communication skills.
- S(he) should demonstrate ability to assess priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality;
- S(he) must be able to also work independently and manage various projects in a team setting,with limited supervision;fluency in English and Hausa.
Awards Coordinator

Programme Support Officer
- LocationSokoto
- The purpose of the assignment is to provide assistance to Save the Children's programs team (NEI+ project) implemented across three North eastern States.
- The programme support officer will provide technical, logistic and administrative support for the implementation of activities.
- He /She will liaise and coordinate with the logistics department in Abuja and ensure action is taken and give feedback as appropriate.
- Candidate should possess a minimum of B.Sc/HND in a Social Science/Science related discipline and a postgraduate degree will be an added advantage;
- S/he should have 3-5 years prior NGO experience with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work proactively and flexibly alongside a wide range of team members;
- S/he should have strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills and Excellent computer literacy;
- S/he should have knowledge and experience of developing administrative systems with strong numeracy skills and experience of tracking & monitoring budgets i.e budget planning, phasing,forecasting and reporting.
Systems and Community Mobilization Specialists

Child Protection in Emergencies Officer

- This position is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the child protection components of Save the Children (SC) Nigeria's emergency response.
- S/he will need to coordinate with other Emergency Response team members and SC staff, especially Implementation Management, health, education and other relevant technical sectors, to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response.
- Candidate should have a university degree in Law, International Law, political Sciences or related field with good knowledge of International Refugee, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law;
- S/he should have minimum of 5 years (of which at least 3 in the field) of progressively responsible professional experience in child protection, humanitarian affairs, human rights, and related fields;
- Good knowledge and understanding of DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNCRC);
- Experience with participatory approaches to protection, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management. or other related area.
- Good communication skills and knowledge of local languages especially in Hausa.

- This position will be responsible for implementing and/or coordinating all financial support functions to the country office.
- Candidate should have a degree - B.Sc /HND or equivalent in Finance/Accounts/Business Administration;
- professional certificate in accounting or finance will be an added advantage;
- S/he should have experience in working with partners accountable for grants and other financial support provided to implement project activities, particularly at community level;
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of IT Expertise (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Logistics Officer
- LocationGombe
- The Logistics Officer is responsible for managing logistics staff, vehicle fleet, assets, communications, procurement, security and properties to ensure effective, transparent and accountable logistic support to the Save the Children programmes in SC Nigeria.
- Liaison with program teams to ensure adequate logistical consideration for coordination and planning of program implementation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to program teams on logistical elements of distribution & procurement planning.
- The candidate must possess a degree in Business Administration or any related Social science course.
- He or she must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of lT expertise;
- 2 years prior experience in a similar role (experience in an INGO will be an added advantage).
- Ability to work in a relatively insecure field based environment and willingness to travel is essential.
Finance Assistant
- LocationGombe
- This position will be responsible for implementing and/or coordinating all financial support functions to the state office.
- Candidate should have a degree - B.Sc /HND or equivalent in Finance/Accounts/Business Administration;
- S/he should have experience in working with partners accountable for grants and other financial support provided to implement project activities, particularly at community level.
Driver
- LocationGombe
- The driver is responsible for the safe driving of Save the Children International vehicle, staff and Assets.
- The Driver will ensure cleaning, proper maintenance of vehicles in compliance with the Driver's handbook and safe driving standards, ensuring the vehicle is fuelled in time for trips and the proper management of the fuel supply for that vehicle.
- The driver should do so in accordance with SCI policies- and procedures.
- A full and clean driving license with 3-5 years' experience of professional driving in an international NGO, UN agency or private company;
- Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure is essential for this position;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in insecure environments is critical;
- Some practical experience of user vehicle maintenance.
