26 Died, 28 Injured As Suicide Bomber Attacks Mosque In Maiduguri

 Three bombings in northeast Nigeria's largest city of Maiduguri killed 58 people on March 7, 2015 and wounded 139 others, the area police chief said. Niger and Chad on March 8, 2015 launched major ground and air strikes in northeast Nigeria against Boko Haram, after the militants formally pledged allegiance to the Islamic state group in Syria and Iraq.

A Suicide bomber on Saturday sneaked into a mosque along Ali Kotoko road, Maiduguri and detonated his vest, leaving 26 dead with 28 injured.

The incident took place at about 3:45pm when Muslim faithful were performing their Laasar prayers.

Unconfirmed report said that apart from the explosion in the mosque, another explosion rocked the Monday Market area.
