A tiger mum who whipped her adopted son with a skipping rope because he did not finish his homework
A mother has been jailed for half a year after brutally whipping her son as punishment for not finishing his homeworkin Nanjing, Jiagsu Province, China.

The incident caused outrage in China and the woman was reported to police. In court Ms Li confessed to repeatedly beating the child with a skipping rope and back scratcher because he “didn’t finish his homework and told lies.”

She said: “I’m not a bad mother. I just don’t want him to lie and he doesn’t feel safe when we’re apart from each other.” The boy is believed to be Li’s nephew, whom she adopted several years ago from his parents in rurral area to give the boy better education.
