INEC’s Final Decisions On The Inconclusive Kogi State Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Tuesday resolved to conduct fresh polls in only the 91 polling units that witnessed cancellation of the ballots in the November 21 governorship election in Kogi State, on December 5.
This follows the declaration of the election as inconclusive by the electoral body.

A public notice signed by the Secretary to INEC, Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu, and dated 24th November, 2015, explained that this decision was taken “after due consideration of the circumstances.”

The new date would allow the All Progressives Congress, fill the vacancy created by the death of its governorship candidate in the inconclusive election, late Abubakar Audu.
