Yesterday (Oct. 3), Amber Rose held her first ever SlutWalk in L.A.
The parade’s mission is to put an end to slut-shaming and other forms
of bullying directed at women and other marginalized groups.
After the event kicked off, Rose posted a picture on Instagram of her
mother walking in the parade holding a sign that reads, “FUC K YO 30
showers!”
The sign is a response to the comments Kanye West made about Amber,
his ex-girlfriend, earlier this year on The Breakfast Club, when he
said, “I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim,” in response to Amber’s allegations that Kim sent Kanye na^ked pictures while they were still together.
We tend to think of West as one of the more progressive figures in
the industry, so it’s surprising to look back on his degrading comments.
Props to Amber, and her mother, for taking ownership of the now
infamous insult.
