Reports have emerged that 60 million Naira has been paid to the owners
of the land on which President Muhammadu Buhari’s helipad was
constructed in his hometown, Daura Katsina state.
According
to Daily Trust, the land owners were presented with cash and cheques
over the last weekend. The presentation was done by the Permanent
Secretary in the Ministry of Lands and
Survey, Salihu Rimi who was
representing the Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Inuwa.
Rimi
stated in the September 21, 2015 report that standard procedures were
followed to determine the true owners of the land and also in the
payment process as true copies of certificates of occupancy and yellow
cards were all verified.
When news broke out in June that President Buhari was to build a helipad in Daura, it was met with mixed reactions.
