National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has
announced that online registration of corps members will begin as from
Saturday, August 23, 2014.
Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Johnson Bamidele
Olawunmi made the announcement while speaking to Batch B corps members
at the NYSC orientation camp in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara
State.
Olawunmi affirmed that from now on, going to various institutions for cal up letters will no longer be necessary as it is now possible to download the letters from the NYSC website.

“Corp members will no longer have to
go to their institutions to collect call Up letters. He or she can
register online from anywhere in the world and our portal will be ready
by today. We are committed to ensuring that the scheme is fully
digitized so that it can meet international standards,” he said.
On the involvement of corps members in the 2015 elections, the NYSC boss said they will take active part in the process.
“No corps member should involve him/
herself in any act of misconduct and if anyone is caught receiving
gratification from politicians, just to manipulate or give someone
advantage, that person will not be spared. All necessary measures will
be taken to guarantee your safety and security and you must be ready to
face the challenges,” he said.
Speaking earlier, the state
coordinator of the scheme, Mrs Ruth Bakka, said they have registered
1,740 corps members for the exercise in the state.
