Nigerian-born British boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has sent a string of bizarre social media posts suggesting people had been “programmed” to hate ousted Zimbabwe tyrant, Robert Mugabe.
The dictator resigned from office this week, prompting jubilant celebrations on the streets of the country’s capital, Harare.
And Joshua took to Snapchat to comment on public attitudes toward the hated despot, according to the Daily Star.

The boxing champ, who is currently away in Dubai, first asked followers: “Why do they despise Robert Mugabe?” He later posted a selfie along with the caption: “Mugabe… is your view what you’ve been told?

“Or what you have learnt through research? Or what you’ve been programmed to know via media outlets?”

Mugabe had ruled Zimbabwe with an iron fist for 37 years since the country declared independence in 1980.

Human rights groups have accused him of blatant abuses and overseeing a wave of anti-white discrimination and state corruption while the economy tanked.

Mugabe, 93, officially resigned as Zimbabwe leader this week. The ageing tyrant has countless human rights abuses to his name, and his resignation was met with scenes of celebration.

It followed a dramatic chain of events during which the military staged a coup to remove the leader.

Responding to AJ’s posts, one Twitter user wrote: “Reckon Anthony Joshua needs to get off his holiday in Dubai, he’s on his Snapchat essentially suggesting Mugabe is made out to be bad due to the media.

“Nothing to do with him being a psycho b******.”

And another added: “Hmmm. Lately, Anthony Joshua has been spewing nonsense, especially on Snapchat. He doesn’t come across as a very bright individual.”

It’s not the first time Joshua’s social media accounts have sparked controversy.

Over the weekend, the Brit favourite was accused of sending racist messages to a rival.

The world heavyweight star was accused by Eddie Chambers of calling the American a “disgrace to the superior black race.”

But a rep for AJ confirmed his account was hacked. Daily Star Online understands that his account was not hacked this time and these latest updates were sent by him.
