For allegedly stabbing each other, two friends, Yetunde Kolawole, 20 and
Banke Alonge, 26, were yesterday arraigned at Kado-Ekiti Chief
Magistrates’ Court.
According to the Prosecutor, Cpl. Monica Ikebuilo,
the accused persons engaged in a public fight and unlawfully used broken
bottles to cause injuries on themselves, which The offences, she said,
is contrary to Sections 83 and 338(1) of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Vol. 1
Laws of Ekiti State, 2012. Ikebuilo prayed the court for an adjournment
to enable her prepare her case against the accused persons.
Represented by their counsel, Mr Busuyi Ayorinde and Mr Gbenga Abejide, the accused persons, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge read to them by the court. After listening to the argument of both parties, Chief Magistrate Idowu Ayenimo, granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of N50,000 and one surety each. The case was thereafter adjourned till Nov.11 for hearing.
